about

All tracks composed & mixed by Dan Frey
Except “The Unbearable Truth” - Composed by Dan Frey with ideas from Ian McIntyre & Aaron Wright

All tracks “performed” by SmartMusic SoftSynth Instruments
Except “The Unbearable Truth,” “Past, Present, & Future”, & “Into the Unknown” - “performed” by SmartMusic SoftSynth Instruments & Garritan Instruments for Finale
and “Somewhere Else” - “performed” by Garritan Instruments for Finale

The title “Past, Present, & Future” was originally chosen because of the music on the album. “The Unbearable Truth” and “Street Flight” were completed long ago (well before my “Stargazing” album was released) and “Interstellar Sandwich” was another track I started years ago, although I didn’t complete it until this year. All three tracks were written for the band I was in at the time, Highpoint. “Potatoes”, “Dawn”, and the excerpt of “Somewhere Else” were written in 2012, and the remaining compositions on the album are more recent works. This album therefore shows how my compositions have evolved over time and gives a glimpse of what’s next – from past to present and into the future.

However, my hope is that “Past, Present, & Future” will have a deeper meaning to you than that. For me, the title serves as a reminder that time marches on – and while we must learn from the past, it is important to live in the present and focus on moving forward, towards the future. I hope that you enjoy listening to this album as much as I enjoyed creating it, and I hope that it inspires you to relax and reflect on your own past, present, and future.

A special thanks to all of my family, friends, and relatives for supporting me, both musically and with life in general. You know who you are, and I don’t know what I’d do without you.

Hard copies of this album are not available. However, download of the full album includes a pdf file that is the album cover/ liner notes. To create your own hard copy simply download the full album, burn a CD, and print the pdf file.

If you like the album, share with your friends!

Merry Christmas!
